This is brimming with potential as well and while it too will require plenty of patience, its class and grace could allow it to be approached in its youth and then a few years later as it ages. In a word, brilliant.

There is good freshness and verve to the elegant and refined medium weight flavors that exude a fine minerality on the explosively long and impeccably well-balanced finish. This isn't quite as structured as some vintages of this storied wine yet note that I said "isn't quite" because this will still need ample time to realize its full and considerable potential.

There is a distinctly earthy character to the rich, intense and broad-shouldered flavors that exude a focused power before culminating in a concentrated, long and very serious finish. This brooding and very backward effort will require a long siesta in the cellar before it will be approachable.

There is admirable persistence on the quite firm finish that is at once pure and actually rather refined, which is not always the case with this wine. Worth a look.

This is blessed with copious amounts of mid-palate sap and the balance is impeccable which should allow this to age magnificently well.

While the structure is firm, the tannins are relatively fine-grained and the overall impression is not especially rustic.

This nicely balanced effort is a successful combination of Nuits power and Vosne finesse.

This should amply reward 10 to 12 years of cellar time.

The palate impression is strikingly rich and muscular and the typical bold and brash flavors of a classic Vaucrains are present before terminating in a wonderfully intense, austere and hugely long finish. As is almost always the case with the Gouges Vaucrains, this is very firmly structured and will need all of a decade and very probably then some to fully mature.

There is excellent richness and concentration to the distinctly earthy large-scaled but not huge flavors that possess dense but relatively fine supporting tannins on the wonderfully persistent finish. While the Vaucrains is an excellent wine it appears that there is just a bit more present here. This is well worth your consideration, at least if you're prepared to cellar it for a minimum of 10 years.
