There is still a slight, if discernible, dash of unabsorbed wood present on the notably ripe nose that displays a superb range of spice elements along just a hint of secondary character on the black currant, plum, earth and game scents. The superbly concentrated and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors are wonderfully rich, sappy and lavish large-scaled flavors that flash excellent power and drive on the highly complex and still firm though not longer compact finale that offers simply stunning length. For my taste, this has just now arrived at a stage where it could be enjoyed now though with that said, another 6 to 10 years should be beneficial. A monument in the making. Note that one bottle I have tried displayed a very subtle but not invisible touch of brett.

There is excellent freshness and vibrancy to the pure, round, rich and focused full-bodied flavors that flash obvious muscle and minerality on the deep, powerful and hugely long finish. The '06 Chambertin is still firm though not so firm that it couldn't be enjoyed now though with that said, I would be inclined to continue to hold for another 5 or so years. In a word, wonderful. Tasted several times over the years with consistent notes save for one bottle that seemed excessively green.

Like its stablemate this is a big and imposingly-scaled effort that possesses outstanding mid-palate concentration as the tannin-buffering sap completely coats the mouth on the explosively long, muscular and powerful finale. Despite the strikingly good size, weight and punch this remains a beautifully well-balanced effort that will need at least another 10 years of cellar time because even though it's not quite as structured and backward as the Cham, it is nowhere close to being ready for prime time. That said, it should be genuinely breathtaking when it finally arrives at its apogee. Tasted twice in the last year with consistent results.

It's interesting because this is so cool and backward that in 2006, it's more Chambertin than B?ze.

That said I would advise holding this for another 5ish years first. In sum, this is altogether lovely as about the only nit is a finishing hint of warmth.

This is strikingly complex and by far and away the best showing of this wine that I have ever seen, at least at such an early juncture and it seems to have fulfilled the promise that I originally saw from cask. Note that like many '09s that this could actually be drunk now though you would be leaving a great deal of potential on the table. Tasted only once from bottle.

This is delicious effort should reward mid to longer-term cellaring. I would further note that while the pliant structure allows this to be approached now, I would hold for another 5 to 8 years in the hopes that better complexity will develop.

This is a big but seamlessly well-balanced effort that should also amply repay extended cellaring.

The palate impression is a gorgeous combination of power and refinement along with flat out superb complexity on the explosively long, focused and beautifully well-balanced finish. The supporting structure is dense but fine and this should prove to be a moderately long-lived example.

There is seriously good size, weight and power to the imposingly scaled flavors that display almost painful intensity on the driving, explosively long and very firmly structured finish where a pleasing bead of minerality appears which helps to add lift to the finish. This is powerful and presently quite compact yet my sense is that despite being very tightly wound today, it should progressively unfold such that in 7 to 8 years, it may be sufficiently civilized to enjoy if you don't wish to wait for its full maturity.
