The delicious, round and relatively generous middle weight flavors still retain reasonably good detail and precision thanks to the firm acid spine on the solidly long and saliva-inducing finish. About the only nit is that there is not all that much complexity but I believe that it will come with a year or two in bottle. In sum, very solid quality for an entry level wine and thus worth considering for value and quality.

It doesn't happen very often but in 2008, the Vergers is in the league of the Caillerets and the Ruchottes. Buy it.

There is reasonably good precision to the impressively intense, powerful and penetrating mineral-laden flavors that deliver outstanding length. I very much like the underlying sense of elegance and refinement and this has reached its apogee and should continue to drink well over the next decade, perhaps longer. Consistent notes save for five pre-moxed bottles that have varied from subtly premoxed to heavily premoxed.

As is typically the case, this is less mineral-driven than the Caillerets but compensates by more body, richness and power as well as outstanding complexity on the mouth coating and lingering finish. This is lovely and while the nose isn't yet what it should be, this will almost certainly develop in time.

That said, I was a bit disappointed by the amount of wood the 2009 version is carrying as it presently dominates the ripe and mildly exotic yellow orchard fruit suffused nose. The good news is that there is excellent concentration and an abundance of dry extract to the broad-scaled, lush and overtly opulent flavors and thus there is at least a reasonable possibility that the wood will eventually be integrated. However, the generous oak is not the only nit as there is noticeable if discreet warmth on the finish and overall, this is on the awkward side today. We'll see in time and my score offers the benefit of the doubt.

There is a very classy mouth feel to the delicious and relatively big-bodied yet refined medium-bodied flavors that possess a fine sense of vibrancy as well as plenty of power and punch on the well-balanced, complex and lingering finish. This is most impressive for such a young Ruchottes that can already be enjoyed yet the firm acid spine should ensure a long life. 2011 is another fine vintage for what is in my view consistently the best of the Ramonet 1ers.

There is a highly refined texture to the powerful, concentrated and mineral-driven larger-scaled flavors that flash outstanding depth and persistence on the impeccably well-balanced finale. This is seriously classy juice that is still improving that it's sufficiently far along that it would not be vinous infanticide to enjoy a bottle now. In a word, terrific.

The expressive nose offers up notes of white flower, citrus, pain grill?, spice hints and notes of green fruit that continue onto the bold, rich, intense and impressively detailed medium-full flavors that possess real drive, focus and finishing power. This is much more classic in terms of the traditional Ramonet style than what we saw in 2004 and 2005.

This is still very primary yet oozes class and refinement but even so it will clearly require a few years in bottle before it's really ready for prime time. In particular, I really like the overall sense of balance and harmony and this should eventually be quite special.

Since my last review in 2013, the wood still remains visible as it sets off strikingly pretty, fresh and solidly complex honeysuckle, white peach and spiced pear aromas. There is excellent intensity to the delicious and equally complex middle weight flavors that possess ample concentration plus outstanding balance and length on the palate staining finish. This is really classy juice and quite stylish as well. Interestingly, even though this is not yet ready, there is a softness to the mid-palate that allows the '08 BBM to be enjoyable now if desired though note well that it should continue to reward another 3 to 5 years of cellar time.

This is a fine villages and well worth considering.

While discreet there is a hint of warmth though it's sufficiently subtle that if the wine is served reasonably well-chilled it shouldn't really be noticeable. This should drink well young but offer several years of upside development potential as well.

This is also true of the almost painfully intense and focused medium plus weight flavors that possess ample amounts of extract that buffer the very firm acid spine on the hugely long finish. While it should not be a surprise, given that not only is this Montrachet but a Ramonet Montrachet at that, don't open any of these anytime soon. The '07 version is not ever going to be one of the power vintages for this storied wine but I suspect that it will take its rightful place among the greats but only in time.....and that time isn't soon. Patience absolutely required.
