As good as the Pommard is, there is simply another dimension of depth present here. This will need every bit of a decade of cellar time to arrive at its peak.

There is genuinely brilliant complexity to the exceptionally rich and equally stony broad-shouldered flavors that possess perhaps a bit more refinement than usual on the strikingly persistent finish. This is a stunner of a Champeaux in a vintage that produced any number of them.

There is a terrific inner mouth perfume to the notably spicy and mineral-driven flavors that possess an explosion of sap that renders the firm tannins almost invisible on the austere, balanced and equally explosive finish that is clearly constructed for the long haul. This offers excellent grip on the palate saturating finale and I very much like the underlying sense of tension.
