This is not especially elegant but the depth and punch are impressive plus in the context of the vintage, this finishes quite dry. Note that for my taste this has arrived at its apogee though it should continue to hold well for another 5ish+ years if desired. Tasted 3 times recently with consistent results (and no premox).

Note that while I have generally had good luck with this wine, I have also had two bottles that displayed wisps of premox.

This is really very good, particularly for its level and while it's not the most complex wine among the vintages tasted, it is wonderfully harmonious and complete. For my taste this is drinking perfectly now with no upside development potential remaining.

Like the Perri?res, there are copious amounts of dry extract, which imparts a wonderfully seductive character to the textured and classy broad-shouldered flavors that possess excellent mid-palate fat on the opulent, refined, mouth coating and palate staining finish that is mildly austere as well as hugely long. This will require plenty of patience from those fortunate enough to acquire a few bottles but the good news is that it will live for years to come.

It's clear that this is much, much less evolved than the other wines in the range and I suspect that it will develop equally slowly in bottle too.

While this has become civilized and could certainly be enjoyed now, it is still clearly very young and still developing so if you wish to appreciate it at its peak, it will be necessary to wait a few more years. A monument in the making.

There is excellent freshness and terrific intensity to the imposingly-scaled flavors that brim with seemingly endless reserves of dry extract on the balanced, hugely long and explosive finish that really fans out as it sits on the palate. In contrast to many vintages of this storied wine that require a minimum of 10 to 12 years of cellaring before it can be drunk with pleasure, the 2012 version should be approachable after only 5 to 7 years even though my sense of the time required for full maturity is more on the order of 12 to 15.

This delivers excellent quality for a villages level wine and is worthy of your interest.

This is a much bigger and richer wine than the Perri?res with its full-bodied and luxurious flavors that brim with seemingly a limitless supply of dry extract yet there is a fine sense of underlying tension and precision on the balanced and hugely persistent finish. As it usually is this stunningly good Montrachet is incredibly powerful yet focused with superb development potential that is going to require a seriously extended snooze in a cool cellar.

This really expands on the borderline tannic and almost painfully intense finish and it seems like an even bigger wine than it is. As good an example of Lafon Charmes as I have seen in a while.

The highly energetic medium weight flavors possess excellent punch while the sophisticated texture is akin to rolling tiny stones around the mouth and this character only seems to build on the strikingly long, complex and beautifully persistent finish. This beauty is at an inflection point where it could certainly be enjoyed now as much of its development potential has been realized but if you want to enjoy it at its true apogee, another 2 to 5 years of cellaring will be necessary. As the description confirms, this is gorgeous.

Despite ten years of bottle age, this remains wonderfully fresh and pure with its elegant and restrained white flower, pear and spice aromas. The rich, full and strikingly elegant middle weight flavors possess superb depth and huge length on the detailed, focused and beautifully balanced finish that seems to be extracted directly from liquid rock. This very classy effort is a great Perri?res that should continue to age extremely well, indeed the word Zen comes to mind.
