This also exhibits real verve to the overtly mineral-driven medium weight flavors that terminate in a linear, dry in the best sense and refreshingly clean finish that is austere to the point of being Cistercian. This is certainly very pretty but the underlying phenolics are not quite as ripe, which is not really surprising given the position of Bel Air near the forest.

This opulent effort is a wine of power and punch and while not exactly classic it is more typical than the Puligny.
