Tasting note: Here the nose is genuinely dazzling as the complexity is simply kaleidoscopic with notes of undergrowth, stone, plum and an all but invisible hint of volatile acidity which adds lift to the cool red berry fruit aromas. The rich, intense, supple and overtly powerful big-bodied flavors possess excellent volume and plenty of mid-palate stuffing that serves to help buffer the ripe tannins on the marvelously persistent finish. This is more complex and even slightly longer than the Latrici?res though it's not as gossamer fine or harmonious, at least not yet anyway. A choice.

Tasting note: An impressively complex array of anise and sauvage earth notes adds breadth to the otherwise very pretty and cool layered red and blue pinot fruit aromas that merge into supple, detailed and intensely soil-driven medium weight plus flavors that are delicious and stain the palate on the youthfully austere, long and powerful finish. This is relatively fine in the context of the appellation but it's not quite as fine as the Latrici?res. A choice.

Tasting note: A cool, reserved and almost cold nose of red pinot fruit, underbrush and an almost pungent minerality gives way to equally mineral-inflected, rich and detailed medium weight flavors that possess a more obvious acid spine on the very firmly tannic yet sophisticated finish. At present, this appears to be the best wine in the range though there are several other contenders that are very close in overall quality.

This doesn't have the sheer depth of the rest of these grands crus though it's possible that it will develop more in time.

The rich, full-bodied and tautly muscled big-bodied flavors possess excellent power and concentration, all wrapped in a textured, palate staining and quite linear finish of striking length. This should be outstanding in time.

The very rich, generous and voluminous broad-shouldered flavors retain fine focus and an excellent sense of overall balance as the firm tannins are well-buffered by the copious dry extract that should enable this to age for the next two decades. This is very '09 in style but there is no sense of undue heaviness or weight and about the only nit is a hint of backend warmth.
