This remains remarkably youthful with its super primary, pure and very fresh nose of hazelnut, orange peel and subtle spice note. There is outstanding punch to the impressively, indeed almost painfully intense and vibrant middle weight flavors that brim with obvious minerality on the impressively long and palate staining finish. This is first rate juice for a villages level wine and the balance is so good that this will easily hold for many years to come. In a word, terrific. Note that while this isn't quite at its peak it's not so far away that it couldn't easily be enjoyed now. Note that a bottle tasted in November 2022 was sufficiently premoxed to be unenjoyable.

There is excellent mid-palate density and verve to the intense and envelopping middle weight plus flavors that flash good mineralitly on the balanced, clean, highly complex and impressively long finish. Coche has a well-deserved reputation for crafting superb villages level wines and this '08 will only add to it. I would add that for my taste, this has arrived at its peak but should have no trouble holding here for at least another decade.

There is excellent volume and very good concentration to the vibrant and extract-rich medium weight flavors that possess fine depth on the balanced and highly persistent citrus-inflected finish that displays a deft application of wood as well as ample minerality. This is a terrific villages that is still very much on the way up and while at 6 years of age it could certainly be enjoyed now, for my taste I would allow it to continue to slumber for another 4 to 6 years first. Mild reduction initially reduces the expressiveness of the otherwise fresh and impressively complex lemon, stone and acacia blossom-infused nose. The equally complex and beautifully delineated middle weight flavors ooze a fine minerality before culminating in an overtly austere, intense, linear and compact finish offering superb length. While this could of course be drunk now, for my taste it is still too young. However, if you're going to try a bottle I would advise decanting it for at least 30 minutes first as the flavors take their time opening up. Tasted four times over the past five years with minor bottle variation.

A trace of reduction is not enough to mask the amazingly pure, cool and airy citrus peel, rose petal and essence of stone aromas that precede the energetic, intense and gorgeously well-detailed flavors that brim with plenty of palate staining dry extract. The explosive and mildly austere finish is shaped by firm but ripe acidity that is impeccably well-integrated and this should age effortlessly for years, indeed it is not quite yet at its peak. In sum, this is text book Perri?res that has shown consistently well in my experience. Tasted multiple times since release with remarkably consistent notes.

This refined introduction is followed by stony and beautifully precise flavors that possess a positively gorgeous mouth feel before terminating in a driving, citrusy and stony finish that delivers superb persistence. This is an unusually fresh and energetic 2009 and while it could easily be enjoyed now it's clear that this should continue to develop well for another few years. That duly noted, it's no longer infanticide to consider opening a bottle over the next few years.

The intensely mineral-driven and chiseled medium weight flavors possess superb delineation and simply gorgeous underlying tension before exploding onto the racy, dry, saline and stony finish. This is a seriously impressive example that should eventually join other great vintages of this superb wine. Tasted four times in the last few years with consistent results.

This is very classy juice that isn't quite yet at its peak though with that noted, it's not so far away that it couldn't be enjoyed now. In a word, excellent.
