There is excellent density and plenty of extract to the medium-bodied flavors that possess outstanding intensity as well as mirroring the same beautiful depth of the nose on the tension-filled and gorgeously persistent finish. This is a notably dry La Roman?e of class and grace.

The delicious, round and relatively generous middle weight flavors still retain reasonably good detail and precision thanks to the firm acid spine on the solidly long and saliva-inducing finish. About the only nit is that there is not all that much complexity but I believe that it will come with a year or two in bottle. In sum, very solid quality for an entry level wine and thus worth considering for value and quality.

It doesn't happen very often but in 2008, the Vergers is in the league of the Caillerets and the Ruchottes. Buy it.

This doesn't have the muscle of the Boudriotte but it's clearly finer.

This announces its pretensions to grand cru caliber from the beginning with a lavish display of gorgeously nuanced aromas of wet stones, orchard fruits and honeysuckle framed in noticeable wood. There is reasonably good precision to the impressively intense, powerful and penetrating mineral-laden flavors that deliver outstanding length. I very much like the underlying sense of elegance and refinement and this has reached its apogee and should continue to drink well over the next decade, perhaps longer. Consistent notes save for five pre-moxed bottles that have varied from subtly premoxed to heavily premoxed.

This is lovely and while the nose isn't yet what it should be, this will almost certainly develop in time.

That said, I was a bit disappointed by the amount of wood the 2009 version is carrying as it presently dominates the ripe and mildly exotic yellow orchard fruit suffused nose. The good news is that there is excellent concentration and an abundance of dry extract to the broad-scaled, lush and overtly opulent flavors and thus there is at least a reasonable possibility that the wood will eventually be integrated. However, the generous oak is not the only nit as there is noticeable if discreet warmth on the finish and overall, this is on the awkward side today. We'll see in time and my score offers the benefit of the doubt.

There is a very classy mouth feel to the delicious and relatively big-bodied yet refined medium-bodied flavors that possess a fine sense of vibrancy as well as plenty of power and punch on the well-balanced, complex and lingering finish. This is most impressive for such a young Ruchottes that can already be enjoyed yet the firm acid spine should ensure a long life. 2011 is another fine vintage for what is in my view consistently the best of the Ramonet 1ers.

As this wine almost always is, it's the reference standard for the appellation.

The depth isn't remarkable, at least not yet but the underlying material is present such that more may very well develop.

This is also true of the almost painfully intense and focused medium plus weight flavors that possess ample amounts of extract that buffer the very firm acid spine on the hugely long finish. While it should not be a surprise, given that not only is this Montrachet but a Ramonet Montrachet at that, don't open any of these anytime soon. The '07 version is not ever going to be one of the power vintages for this storied wine but I suspect that it will take its rightful place among the greats but only in time.....and that time isn't soon. Patience absolutely required.

There is impressive size, weight and concentration to the almost painfully intense broad-shouldered flavors that coat the palate with acid-buffering extract before ending in a hugely complex and persistent finish. In a word, breathtaking.
