This should be terrific and I really like the impeccable balance of this long and powerful yet strikingly refined effort.

This is still very, very young and I would strongly advise continued patience as there is much more potential to be revealed.

A wonderfully airy, cool and pure if restrained nose is comprised by exceptionally fresh notes of violet, plum, cassis, wet stone and plenty of spice nuances. There is terrific delineation to the breathtakingly intense medium weight flavors that seem to be built on a firm base of minerality, all wrapped in a balanced, lacy, mouth coating and strikingly persistent if slightly lean finish. This is coming along quite slowly in magnum format and I would be inclined to let it sleep as it needs to add flesh to the finish, which it should do as the supporting tannins resolve.

There is a lovely sense of underlying tension to the refined, intensely mineral-driven and beautifully delineated flavors that culminate in a superbly long, lacy and lilting finish. This is textbook Reignots of class and grace. In a word, stunning.

As one would reasonably expect, this does not have the precision or minerality of the Petits Monts but then Suchots rarely ever does. By contrast, it is considerably fleshier and more opulent and some may find that to be even more appealing.

This saline-inflected effort possesses just a bit more vibrancy and complexity on the slightly firmer finish. Despite the additional structure this should also be reasonably approachable in its youth.

Compared to the Chaumes, the medium-bodied flavors possess a bit more mid-palate concentration that imparts a velvety texture to the mouth coating flavors that are shaped by already well-integrated tannins on the firm, dusty, complex and well-balanced finale. Like the Chaumes, this should drink well on the younger side but it definitely has the concentration, tannic structure and power to repay extended cellaring.

This should also drink well young in fact it is already enjoyable.

For my taste this pretty effort has largely reached its peak though it should have no trouble holding there for another decade.

This generously proportioned and velvety effort is a lovely Vosne villages and should repay short to mid-term cellaring.

There is enough reduction present to knock down the spice and fruit aspects of the otherwise notably ripe nose. There is positively superb density to the velvety, powerful and broad-shouldered medium full-bodied flavors that are seductively textured though the explosively long and almost painfully intense finish tightens up in a real rush. This is bold and robust vintage for La Roman?e that isn't even remotely ready and one that will last for decades but the incredible potential is evident.
