I particularly like the intensity and underlying sense of harmony.

There is moderate concentration to the medium-bodied flavors that are shaped and supported by perfectly integrated tannins, all wrapped in a lingering finish. As with all of these 2009s, this is a wine of medium structure and focused power.

Otherwise, the nose is really quite pretty with the hallmark spice and wet stone nuances that add depth to the ripe yet cool and elegant red berry fruit aromas. There is a supple and very Chambollesque quality to the refined and utterly delicious medium-bodied flavors that offer good if not truly sensational depth and length. This is also relatively forward and while it will certainly age, I was surprised at how civilized it is already.

There is good verve and reasonably good detail to the lightly mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess solid concentration on the lingering and balanced finish. While certainly a good effort I was somewhat under-whelmed given the usual standards this wine offers. Note that the '10 Amoureuses will is already approachable though it should be capable of rewarding 8 to 10 years of cellar time.

This is not an especially big wine by the typical standards of the appellation but the focus and detail are excellent.
