This is class in a glass with terrific vibrancy and the palate staining finish is almost painfully intense as there is so much extract that the palate impression is borderline chewy. This is presently notably less expressive than it was when originally reviewed in 2010 though the depth and layering of the ripe and still exceptionally fresh orchard fruit aromas remain. There is excellent size, weight and richness to the solidly well-concentration and powerful flavors that really coat the mouth on the impressively well-balanced and persistent finish. The richness and concentration actually allow this to be appreciated now though there is so much unrealized potential that I would continue to allow this to slumber for another 3 to 5 years first. Excellent. Tasted twice recently with consistent results.

Tasting note: Here the nose is notably more restrained than that of the Criots with its pure white rose, lavender, pear and lemon rind suffused nose. There is excellent richness and outstanding size, weight and power to the overtly muscular flavors that are blessed with an abundance of dry extract on the explosively long and palate staining finish. Like the Criots, this is bone dry with genuinely impeccable balance that should allow this to successfully age and improve for 10 to 12 years.
