Tasting note: The noticeable oak influence this displayed just after it was bottled is now largely gone though there is still a trace to the ripe secondary-inflected aromas of earth, dark berries and soft leather nuances. There is excellent size, weight and mid-palate density to the large-bodied flavors are at once powerful yet elegant before culminating in a mouth coating, long and ever-so-mildly warm finish. This is a big and ripe but not top-heavy wine that is drinking perfectly well now and one that should continue to do so for at least another decade, perhaps even two. I would add that I have also enjoyed consistent notes.
