Tasting note: An overtly spicy nose also features notes of ripe plum, violets and an intense stoniness. There is beautiful energy to the strikingly intense and racy flavors where the underlying structural elements are clearly ripe and while firm, they seem less prominent than they are in reality as there is an abundance of buffering dry extract. While the hallmark austerity is indisputably present, the overall impression is that this overtly powerful and massively long effort is less reserved than it typically is, which should allow it to be approachable after only 8 years or so, though it will require fully 15 to reach its peak.
