Tasting note: Initially this is quite fruity and high-toned though with 30+ minutes of air the nose begins to deepen as the earth, pepper and briar elements slowly emerge. The moderately lighter weight and supple flavors (though they are by no means dilute) possess a relatively refined mid-palate mouth feel that contrasts somewhat with a touch of rusticity that can be found on the lingering and solidly complex finish. This is one of those wines that does, in a manner of speaking, a full-on 180° reversal, as it's almost simply and excessively fruity to begin with yet manages to transform into something altogether more serious with extended aeration.
