Tasting note: Slightly more obvious wood provides a reasonably neutral backdrop for the more elegant red and dark pinot fruit aromas that are laced with underbrush, earth and hint of game. The more refined, indeed sleek broad-shouldered flavors possess excellent mid-palate concentration thanks to the presence of an abundance of dry extract that once again does a fine job of buffering the fine but dense tannins that shape the beautifully long finish. This caressing and very well-made effort isn't especially powerful or robust but it is well-balanced and should age effortlessly.
