Tasting note: A discreet lashing of wood sets off refined, ripe and spicy aromas of dark red berries, earth and cassis. The rich, mouth coating and powerful flavors are shaped by relatively fine tannins though there is still a robust muscularity to the powerful, focused and superbly long finish. Interestingly, for such an intense wine it is not super concentrated yet the balance and drive are very impressive. There is a touch of wood on the finale though it should not have any trouble being integrated in due time. Note that moderate patience will be required. In a word, outstanding.
