Tasting note: As it frequently does, this sports the most complex nose of the group with a ripe, dense and brooding nose that combines multiple fruit, earth and animale nuances that clearly establish this is a classic Gevrey. There is fine concentration and power to the mouth coating and overtly muscular broad-shouldered flavors that possess impressive intensity on the exquisitely balanced and lingering finish. This is definitely Charmes in that there is a generous side to it but at the same time, there is a taut muscularity and overall, while delicious and easy to appreciate, it's also clear that this will require around 15 years to shed its considerable tannic spine.
