Tasting note: (with thanks to Pat Dukes). This beauty is just beginning to display hints of secondary development on the spicy dark berry fruit aromas that are laced with hints of spice, earth and game. There is excellent freshness and vibrancy to the pure, round, rich and focused full-bodied flavors that flash obvious muscle and minerality on the deep, powerful and hugely long finish. The '06 Chambertin is still firm though not so firm that it couldn't be enjoyed now though with that said, I would be inclined to continue to hold for another 5 or so years. In a word, wonderful. Tasted several times over the years with consistent notes save for one bottle that seemed excessively green.
