Tasting note: This was essentially identical to the 750 ml version (see herein) with the exception that the finish is even more tightly wound. That review is: A discreet but not invisible touch of wood sets off a pretty and intensely floral nose that in particular displays notes of violet and lavender along with plum, black cherry, spice and gentle earth scents trimmed in just a hint of volatile acidity. There is good if not exceptional volume to the sleek but powerful middle weight plus flavors that exude a fine bead of minerality on the moderately austere finish that delivers very fine persistence. This is not especially rich, indeed it's quite taut and delineated at present, but I suspect that this will continue to add weight as it ages.
Speaking of aging, I would advise putting this beauty at the back of your cellaring and forgetting it for at least another decade.
