Tasting note: (with thanks to Pat Dukes). A highly spiced and stunningly elegant nose offers up a complex mixture of dried rose petal, plum and mostly red berry fruit aromas that remain quite fresh with only a trace of secondary character. There is fine precision to the pure and gorgeously intense moderately full-bodied flavors that possess a caressing mouth feel while delivering serious punch and drive on the still moderately firm mineral-inflected finish. While this is, as I note, still moderately firm, it's not hard or particularly austere so if given 30+ minutes of air, it could easily be enjoyed now. With that said, I would be inclined to hold this beauty for another 3 to 5 years. Tasted multiple times over the years with consistent results.
