Tasting note: A brooding and quite restrained nose displays very cool, in fact almost cold dark berry fruit aromas that possess the classic Gevrey markers of pungent earth, humus and sauvage nuances. There is superb intensity to the powerful, serious and mineral-inflected medium-bodied flavors that possess a taut muscularity on the austere, mouth coating and impressively persistent finish. This should be genuinely outstanding if given the substantial amount of cellar time necessary.
