Tasting note: This is relatively lightly colored in the context of the vintage. Ripe but agreeably fresh aromas are composed by evident floral influence on the spicy black cherry-scented nose. The intense, sappy and relatively powerful medium-bodied flavors exude a discreet minerality on the beautifully persistent and well-balanced finish. 2009 is a powerful yet refined vintage for this still youthfully firm effort that should continue to age effortlessly. I would add that in much the same fashion as the '09 Clos de la Roche (see herein), this could be enjoyed now though I would be inclined to continue to cellar it.
