Tasting note: A whiff of menthol character sits atop the overtly floral-suffused nose of violet and rose petal scents that add a touch of elegance to very fresh and still primary spice and earth-inflected berry fruit notes. There is beautiful subtlety to the sleek, detailed, refined and admirably pure middle weight flavors that possess a plenty of minerality on the hugely long and perfectly balanced if slightly austere finish where the supporting tannins are dense but remarkably fine-grained. This is really lovely stuff, indeed it is textbook Clos St. Denis though one that is very clearly built-to-age and is going to need it.
