Tasting note: Quite deeply colored. Markedly ripe and floral notes are composed of plum, cassis, spice, earth and a hint of menthol. There is exceptionally good richness and volume to the concentrated and muscular large-scaled flavors that possess a velvety, even suave mouth feel before culminating in a very firmly structured yet well-balanced finale where the only reproach is a hint of warmth. This highly seductive effort is one of those wines that could be enjoyed now even though it is obviously still on the way up and will be for the better part of the next two decades. I would further note that this is more marked by the 2009 vintage than is the Clos St. Denis. Tasted twice in the last year with consistent results.
