Tasting note: A pretty, fresh and airy nose is displaying only the initial hints of mature fruit as it otherwise remains decidedly youthful. There is good verve and detail to the lighter weight flavors that are by no means dilute but it would be fair to observe that there isn't exceptional concentration either. The finishing edginess that this displayed from barrel has indeed dissipated as I suggested that it might and become much more harmonious. For my taste this is still on the way up and while I don't believe that it will be a true long distance runner it should reward another 4 to 6 years of cellar time. In sum, 2008 is a perfectly good but not exceptional vintage for this storied wine.
