Tasting note: Compared to the exuberance of the Clos St. Jacques this is much more restrained with timid aromas of rose petal, spice hints, warm earth and ripe red cherry and currant scents. There is excellent size, weight and punch to the large-scaled but not especially powerful medium-bodied flavors that brim with plenty of mouth coating dry extract, all wrapped in a particularly vibrant, precise and hugely long finish. As good as the Clos St. Jacques is, and it is indisputably excellent, there is just another dimension of depth present here.
