Tasting note: (opened at a restaurant in Chablis as well as two private events in Beaune). All but invisible wood easily allows the reticent and ever-so-slightly exotic nose of white peach, flowers, lemon peel, mineral reduction and seaweed scents to shine. There is remarkable intensity to the notably rich, powerful and concentrated palate staining big-bodied flavors that possess oustanding size and weight on the wonderfully long finish. This is still incredibly young and unevolved and at least 3 to 5 years away from its eventual peak. Note that as has been the case with the 2010 Mont?e de Tonnerre (see herein for that review), some bottles seem somewhat advanced (not premox) and others, like this one, years away from their apogee. Note further that my scores have been quite consistent and have ranged between 96 and 97 points.
