Tasting note: Here the wood is more noticeable though it's not enough to materially detract from the cassis, black pinot fruit, earth and spiced plum aromas that are in keeping with the quite rich and ripe big-bodied flavors blessed with superb concentration on the powerful, driving and palate staining finish. I very much like the depth and while the structural elements are certainly firm, there is a sufficiency of extract to buffer them.
