Tasting note: (with thanks to Pat Dukes). The expressive and notably ripe nose that is displaying very little in the way of mature fruit notes combines subtle but not invisible wood influence with those of plum, earth and cassis. The textured and palate staining medium-bodied flavors possess good energy as they explode on the sappy and long finish where the only nit is a touch of warmth. This is a big yet elegant Charmes that could certainly be enjoyed now or held for another decade as it is aging gracefully but slowly.
